- Interview article.
- Partnerered to launch OroraTech’s first payload on a Spire 6U nanosatellite. The satellite planned for launch in December 2021 will carry OroraTech’s thermal-infrared camera and data processing unit designed to detect fires and transmit the data using Spire’s satellite and ground network.
- Thomas Grübler, August 2023, As the CEO & Co-founder of OroraTech, investors often ask me, "Do you own satellites?" The answer is straight: No. Our approach is using Satellite-as-a-Service. It enables us to focus on our core: our unique miniaturized thermal-infrared camera, capable of detecting fires as small as a single tree and measuring absolute temperatures with up to 1K accuracy. The Satellite-as-a-Service model allows us to minimize our capital expenditure (CAPEX) and reduce the time to orbit. I am pleased to announce that we finally contracted Spire Space Services for the complete first constellation of eight cameras to be launched next year.

- Greece taps AI-powered satellite tech to build wildfire defence system, 2024-07-02.
- FOREST-3 seems to be built in-house.
- OroraTech initially worked with Spire, which flew thermal cameras on its satellites through Spire’s “space as a service” business. Langer said that his company is now building its own 8U cubesats but expects to continue working with Spire.
